Dottye Hannan is a native of Savannah, Georgia. When her husband, Col. Jim Hannan, retired in 1983 they chose Montgomery as home. In her continued service to our community, Dottye has served as board member and/or president of numerous organizations through the years including: the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, Kidney Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Hospice of Montgomery, and the American Heart Association. She currently serves on the following Board of Directors: The Montgomery Symphony, The Montgomery Zoo, Montgomery Ballet, Friends of the Governor’s Mansion, The Montgomery Symphony League, as well as, The Arts Council of Montgomery. Dottye and her husband are very involved with the Air War College and the International Officer’s Family Orientation Program at Maxwell Air Force Base and has sponsored over 40 Australian Officers and their families to the service schools at Maxwell. Dottye and Jim have been married for over 55 years and are the proud parents of four grown children and three grandsons.
