The Capitol Sounds Concert Band presented a "Young People's Concert" on Saturday, January 14, 3:00 PM, at Sidney Lanier High School Auditorium in Montgomery. This free concert was a gift to the community in hopes of exposing our youth to the wonderful world of music. The highlight of the performance was "Peter and the Wolf" composed by Sergei Prokofiev, and narrated by Josh Ninke. Marie Robertson from the music department at Huntingdon College was featured on Euphonium in the classic solo "Napoli". The Capitol Sounds performed "African Celebration", composed by Justin Harden, who is a native of Tallassee and plays flute in the band. There was also a musical instrument "petting zoo" before the concert. The concert was sponsored by the Arts Council of Montgomery and presented with support from the administration of Sidney Lanier High School and Montgomery Public Schools.
